Black Lady Of Bradley Woods, Bradley, Lincolnshire
Bradley is a village and civil parish in north east pocket of the county with a population of over two hundred.
There is a Grade II listed medieval church, dedicated to St. George, built during the 12th century, possibly of Norman origin. Nearby, stands Bradley Woods, a picturesque stretch of paths and trees and undergrowth.
The legend of the Black Lady dates back to the War of the Roses and is a tragic tale of a woman who died wandering lost looking for her stolen child.
Alleged eyewitnesses have described her as dressed in a flowing black cloak and a black hood that obscures her hair but reveals her mournful, pale, tear-soaked face.
